Evaluation Q6

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Adobe Photoshop
While constructing my product, I learnt how to use Adobe Photoshop. This is the program which I used to create my music magazine.
Through using Adobe Photoshop I learnt how to remove the background of texts so that the background no longer had white around it, add text boxes and change all the font, how to select and add images onto another document or image, and how to move the main image so it fit the screen better.
On the text, there is the choice of whether to add a shadow around the letters, and whether to add a texture to the text.
Along with making the main image look more suitable, I learnt how to smudge, which meant that if I wanted a bigger white background then I would be able to extend the white as far as I wanted, which would enable me to have more space for coverlines without the model looking surrounded.
Finally, I learnt through using Photoshop how to change the colours of parts of the image (for example the hair of the model). Once changing the hair to the colour of my preferred choice, I could change the opacity of the colour, and could choose whether there was an effect such as the humidity or luminosity of the hair.
Before using Photoshop for creating my magazine, I had never used it before (other than for the preliminary task of creating a school magazine), so everything I have done on my magazine was completely through creating the magazine and seeing what tools did what to the image and what effect most suited my genre.

 Blogger
While creating my school magazine, I had to make a Blogger account and record everything I did as I went along. Through recording everything I did in class on my Blogger account, I learnt how to create a blog and post onto it. I also learnt how to add images to the blogs as evidence. For example, when I started to create my music magazine, I had to get feedback from the public to see what their preferred font, number of pages, colour scheme and so on was. To show that I had actually taken the publics thoughts into consideration, I screen-shotted the public's response and put it onto my blog as proof.

I have also learnt how add videos from other websites such as 'Youtube'. I would go onto the video and press the 'Share' button, and then copy the embed link. Once doing this I would press the 'HTML' button on the toolbar on my blogger and press paste.

Once pasting the embedded code into Blogger, I would once again press the 'Compose' button and the video from YouTube would be on the blog that I would like to post.

Facebook
When creating my magazine, I had to get public opinions. Through posting images of my product and the different font types that were options to choose from, I learnt how to use social media to get audience research.

While using Facebook, I learnt how to post images and write about what sort of feedback I need from the public. I would then screenshot the responses and post them on to my blog. I posted my questionnaire on Facebook, and from the feedback I got, I went onto Excel and created graphs which meant that I could then save the graphs as a picture and post them onto blogger.
