Makeup Photos

Look 1:

The images above show the progress of the eyeshadow that I am considering using for my model. It was a dark silver with a hint of black on the edge of the eyelid. This would be suitable for my genre because it would match the sort of fashion that the people from that genre would wear. The makeup is suitable in contrast with what the model would be wearing.

The model would also be wearing red lipstick to show how she is expressing herself and portraying the fashion of people from this genre. As red lipstick is very bold, it seems as if she is making a statement through her makeup and because in most indie-rock based music or models, females aren't often used, and it's making her more noticed and shows her 'fans' that she isn't afraid or shy to stand out which is partly the image of indie-rock.

Look 2:

These two images are showing a lighter and more shimmery/glittery effect on the eyelid. This makeup (although glittery) is more subtle than the other makeup. This would try to encourage a more natural look for females who are interested in this sort of fashion, as they can still express themselvess through their clothes. However the eyeshadow still shows clearly and it is still obvious that she is wearing makeup.

Which do I Prefer?

Out of both of the makeup tests, I preferred the first look. This is because I just feel that the makeup fits the style of indie-rock a bit more because of the colours and it would make it more obvious and bold in the photos. I think that the first look is the type of makeup I will be using for my actual final photoshoot.

The reason I decided against the second look is because I feel that the colours aren't as bold and interesting. Not only this but although it allows more expression through the actual clothes to happen, I would just prefer to have something more noticeable and something which matches the clothes to a better standard.
