Girls
Through the research I have done about indie rock magazines I have learnt that girls are not often used as models and are not indie rock singers. This means that the majority of music and magazines made around the focus of indie rock doesn't use girls. This is what makes my magazine different, my magazine uses more girls than it does boy, which is controversial and might increase the amount of people who buy the magazine.I have also found out (through my questionnaire) that people would like to see women in magazines in a less sexual way which has influenced my magazine as I will dress the females in clothes which are very unrevealing.
Mise En Scene
The clothes which I will get the models to wear will be 'hipster' sort of clothes. They will be quite dark and baggy or a little unusual items of clothing. The girls hair will all be down and they will have either wavy or straight hair.Make up will be quite plain with some dark lipstick and eyeshadow. This will add to the effect of the background when I go to a certain location (which is going to have lots of trees in the back ground) and take some pictures of my model, however for my front cover I will have my model against a plain white background.
I will take a before and after picture of the girls to show how they have changed and will ask them to change their clothes as proof that we have thought about what they could wear as well as the makeup.
The boy I am using will have wavy hair and will be wearing black jeans. I will get him to change his top a few times to show the different 'costume changes'.
I found out what sorts of things my models should be wearing through research and I looked at other images to see the sorts of backgrounds the images had and the types of locations I should go and visit to see whether they would match my genre.
In my research I looked up artists of the same genre and I written posts about the artists and I will base my magazine on the artists I researched as they were/are very successful and they have inspired the way my magazine will look.
Questionnaire
The questionnaire has helped me to determine everything about how my magazine will be presented, from the name of the magazine all the way to how many pages it will have. There are other posts which shows all the results of the questionnaire and therefore explains what I will be doing with my magazine:
